Verbly (“the Extension”) is a Chrome extension that replaces the new tab page with English learning content. This policy explains what data is and is not collected.

Data We Do NOT Collect

Verbly does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal information. Specifically:

• No user accounts or registration
• No tracking or analytics
• No cookies
• No browsing history or tab activity
• No personally identifiable information of any kind

Local Storage

The Extension stores the following data locally on your device only, using Chrome’s built-in chrome.storage.local API:

• Favorites: entries (quotes/words) you have saved
• Settings: your content preferences (quotes, words, or both)

This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us or any third party.

Third-Party APIs

The Extension makes requests to the following public APIs to fetch content:

ZenQuotes	Fetch inspirational quotes	None (anonymous GET request)
Free Dictionary API	Fetch word definitions	The word being looked up (no user identity)
Unsplash	Load background photos	None (public image URLs)

No personal data is sent to any of these services.

Permissions

The Extension requests the following Chrome permissions:

• storage: to save your favorites and settings locally in the browser

No other permissions are requested or used.

Children’s Privacy

This Extension does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at the same URL with a revised “Last updated” date.
